Community Integrations
Extensions to Home Assistant created by its user and developer community, covering devices and services beyond the official integration library.
Community integrations are extensions to Home Assistant created and maintained by its user and developer community, rather than by the Home Assistant project itself.
Why they exist
The official Home Assistant integration library covers a large and growing number of devices and services, but it cannot cover everything. New hardware is released constantly, niche devices take time to reach official support, and some integrations are experimental or in active development. Community integrations fill those gaps.
How to access them
The primary way to access community integrations is through HACS, the Home Assistant Community Store. HACS adds a browsable library directly inside Home Assistant covering custom integrations, frontend cards, themes, and automation blueprints. If a device or service is not in the official library, HACS is the first place to look.
